EVERYONE HAS HIS OWN DOOR TO OPEN

by Oana

I’ve written here about what it’s like to live looking through a keyhole, about how your entire life experience resumes to that bit of the world you see through that little hole. Most people who do this think that what they see is the whole world, that there is nothing else, or they imagine that there is something else out there, but it is dangerous, immoral and fattening :). And he defends, sometimes aggressively, his point of view. Those who have stepped beyond the door see that there is a new world, never seen before, and express their point of view enthusiastically. Where are they going wrong? They are persistent and sometimes as aggressive as the first. Who is right? All and none. Everyone goes on their own path, at their own pace, in their own destiny. No one should convince anyone of anything, force by insistence, disregard anyone’s life.

When I arrived in Cluj I realized that I was being treated in a not very pleasant way because my accent betrayed that I was from the south. I don’t know exactly what the people of Cluj have to do with the people from the south, it’s not my business. In the past I would have been dumbfounded and withdrawn or made a fuss about the French fries seller not wanting to present me the offer and then trying to gouge me on the price, the grocer admonished me to decide quick or the person at the hostel gave me a bed in a different room than the reserved and didn’t give me a key to the locker. When I understood that they have nothing personal with me, but with what I represent in front of them, a southerner, I calmed down. I had nothing else to do but…be myself. I wasn’t there to represent anything, I didn’t want to convince anyone of anything. And everything was ok after that.

Another example. Most doctors do not recommend a gluten-free diet for autoimmune diseases other than celiac disease. But many “autoimmunes” benefit from this diet. They feel much better, the symptoms have significantly reduced. There are many testimonies to this effect. And rightly so, I say, campaigning on disease groups in favor of diet. It’s just that sometimes they become aggressive with their insistence. I admit, I used to do the same after I found the gluten-free diet working miraculously for me. I was excited and didn’t understand why others wouldn’t even try. Now I know: it’s not their way. As someone said in the group: “everyone chooses, it’s his life”. And the insistence of the “rescuers” leads to aggressive responses from those who do not want to be rescued. Everyone has their own life experience. Everyone has their own door to open. And he opens it when and if he wants.
